OCTOBER IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH
WOMAN, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Labor Commemorate
Domestic Violence Awareness Month
WOMAN, Inc. will present a series of workshops to support and promote the awareness of domestic violence. Traditionally Domestic Violence Awareness Month has been observed across the US during the month of October as a time to raise awareness about domestic violence issues, and the services that are available to survivors.
WOMAN, Inc. is happy to have this opportunity to educate the federal and local community on how to identify domestic violence, address it when noticed in the workplace, and also understand the keys to healthy relationships for all ages.
Jill Zawisza, WOMAN, Inc. Program Services Director encourages everyone to “Bring your lunch, pick up your ‘Passport to Domestic Violence Awareness,’ and earn the chance to win prizes at the end of the series with each attendance!”
The workshop series will be sponsored by the Department of Labor and will be held at the San Francisco Federal Building in Conference Center Room B-040 every Wednesday in October from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm. WOMAN, Inc needs your help! We have an opportunity to win the $5,000 prize that GuideStar USA, Inc., the leading source of nonprofit information, and KIMBIA, a group that empowers nonprofits and other organizations to increase giving, are making available through their Winter 2011 GuideStar-KIMBIA Nonprofit Giveaway. This generous gift could help us accomplish our mission to help abolish domestic violence by promoting a violence free society through advocacy, education, and public policy.
We know we are incredibly fortunate to have a passionate and committed constituency, and believe that if every supporter would take the time to write a review, we know we could be a contender for the GuideStar-KIMBIA Nonprofit Giveaway and could do great things with the prize money.
