Board of Directors

W.O.M.A.N., Inc. Board of Directors

Alice Yom

Board President

Alice began volunteering with WOMAN, Inc. in various capacities before joining the Board of Directors in 2017. She began fundraising/event planning in 2015 after learning of the organization through a fellow survivor. (Read about the start of her involvement here.) She soon became a volunteer peer counselor for WOMAN, Inc.’s 24-hour support line after completing the training program.

Alice is passionate about social justice, equality, and helping survivors of domestic violence. She was born in Seoul, S. Korea, immigrated to the U.S., and has lived in various cities in California, Oregon, and Texas. She has a B.S. from the University of Texas at Austin, and works in marketing, helping to build great companies through creative strategy and communication planning. She loves the Bay Area, which she’s called her “chosen home” since 2008.

Tiffany Cheung

Tiffany is passionate about building an equitable and humane society that promotes vibrant individuals, communities, and ecosystems. This drew her to the Center for Good Food Purchasing, a nonprofit that is helping to create a food system that serves people, animals, and the environment. At the Center, Tiffany leads organizational infrastructure development and financial strategy and management. Tiffany also has a background in private sector finance, operations, and project and portfolio management. Prior to joining the Center, she was a Director at Sony Pictures, where she oversaw the company’s portfolio of Finance and Procurement projects. Tiffany has volunteered with W.O.M.A.N., Inc. on the support line and as a peer counselor since 2018.

Allison Sands

Allison was a volunteer on the events/fundraising committee prior to joining the Board of Directors. Allison is a former federal agent and current corporate security professional who is passionate about keeping people safe where they work, live, and play. She is a Chicago native and has lived all over the world, but considers Northern California home. She has a B.A. in Psychology from Northwestern University and a Master’s degree from Georgetown University. Allison leverages over a decade of experience in intelligence and investigations to empower survivors towards healing and growth. She has worked with many survivors of domestic violence in both her personal and professional life and is deeply committed to the important work of W.O.M.A.N, Inc.

Cori Shearer

Born somewhere in between central Pennsylvania’s chocolate factories, cheesesteaks, and Amish country, Cori is now a committed resident and neighbor living in the heart of San Francisco. Cori leads a product team at Headspace by day and moonlights as a business owner and lifestyle blogger. A recovering overachiever, Cori believes our value is not defined by our titles or productivity and promotes being over doing.

When she’s away from the keyboard, she volunteers and serves as a leader of several organizations across the city. Through service, she aims to empower others to identify and respond to oppression and inequality, to bring about a fundamental change in social systems and to commit to a life-long commitment to social responsibility. For fun, Cori freelances on both sides of the camera and her work has been featured in both print and digital media.
